Neon Woodcock Chick

This client wanted a contemporary statement painting of a British game bird. I had been looking at woodcock chicks with Tommy and couldn't resist choosing this as my subject. The neon paint is impasto and I emptied several tubes of delicious yellow, pink and orange on to my palette knives.
